For some reason I cannot add a comment, so this is a reply to the last comment:

Look at Google maps and you can clearly see where the water runs in the park. There is a greener patch from northwest to southeast and from north along the eastern fence. After heavy rain, as we have just experienced, there are no dry places in the park. However, it is not as muddy as it used to be. But - according to some of the regular park goers – the south-western corner was wetter than usual. They blame it on the mulch on the outside.

We have had several meetings about the dog enclosure and about where to put the gate.

The previous location in the south-eastern corner was the wettest place in the whole park, and right outside there was water over the walking track for a week after heavy rain. Thus, the council agreed to put a drain from the dog park under the walking track to the ditch and moved the gate to its current location. I don’t think there is a dryer location anywhere along the fence in the large dog enclosure.

Kind regards,
MF

Its that time

... when we need to keep extra eyes on our canines and felines.  With the warmer weather coming, ticks and fleas are on the march.  Make sure to keep the grass low, especially if you live in a bushy area.  Most importantly, check your dog or cat daily (they just love the attention!) and you will have piece of mind.  Ticks and fleas can happen to any dog or cat.

One of the favourite pooches of the park, Sandy had a tick and spent a night at the vet's surgery ... Luckily, she is recovering comfortably at home.  A big WOOF-out to Sandy from all your dog friends from the park and they hope to see you back soon!
